<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To process the diffracted light made by diffraction of reflected light of a DMD (Digital Micromirror Device) while suppressing the falloff of a recording capacity of a recording medium and the degradation in efficiency to permit utilization of information. <P>SOLUTION: An ON is expressed by a shining mirror (seeing from right above) 440a for reflecting the light made incident on a space modulator 40 from a mirror 38 and an OFF is expressed by a non-shining mirror 410b for reflecting the light diagonally above. At that time, a normal 420n of a die 20 and a reflection direction (right above) at the time of the ON are different and the difference is such that the reflected light at the time of the ON of part of the diffracted light of the reflected light at the time of the ON and the progression direction coincide with each other.
