PURPOSE:To improve the rise-up of a stepping motor by high-speed driving and to improve the converging property to a specified target stopping position. CONSTITUTION:Main starting pulses, which are supplied into coils L1 and L2, determine the rotating direction of a rotor 6 based on the polarity of the pulses. When the rotation of the rotor 6 is started by the supply of the main starting pulses, reverse-phase pulses having the reverse polarity with respect to the main starting pulses are supplied, and a magnetic field in the reverse rotating direction is suddenly applied. Thus, the inertial rotation is suppressed. When the effect of the supply of the reverse-phase pulses is generated, correcting pulses having the same polarity as the main starting pulses are supplied, and the shortage in rotation of the rotor 6 caused by the reverse-phase pulses is corrected. Then, stop-position specifying pulses comprising a plurality of pulses are supplied, and the stabilized stop-position state of the rotor 6, which is determined by the duty ratio of the stop-position specifying pulses, is maintained. |
