Electrolyte circulation device for lead-acid battery cells - using air-pipe fitted with T=piece connected to small cross=section air-line

The electrolyte circulation device uses an air-pipe (11) adjacent the wall of the battery cell housing and depending into the bottom third of the latter, its upper end fitted with a plastic T-piece (12). One arm (15) of the latter fits through the cell cover (5), both its remaining arms acting as hose connections for a flexible plastics air-line (11) with an outer dia. of less than 3.5 mm. Pref. the air-line has a free cross-section of between 0.8 and 1.0 mm, the arm of the T-piece fitting through the cover provided with a sealing ring (18) fitting in a diagnosis opening (7) for the cover. ADVANTAGE - Allows insertion of air-line without battery plate size being reduced.
