PURPOSE:To generate a safe stop of an elevator car in the event of failure and carry the passengers to the nearest floor using an alternative system which works normally by stopping drive commands to the drive system with failure and the normal system, applying emergency brakes, and giving a drive command only to the normal drive system when the stopped elevator is restarted. CONSTITUTION:Motors 3, 4 installed on one shaft independently are operated by respective converter/inverters (inverter system) 1, 2, and a sheave 5 in direct coupling with the motor shaft is rotated by their driving force so that an elevator car 7 is elevated and sunk. In the event of failure in the inverter system or either drive system, the drive commands (current command value 1, frequency command value omega, and phase command value theta) to the drive system with failure and the normal system are stopped together with application of emergency brakes so that the elevator is stopped safely. Then the drive command is given only to the normal drive system, and the passengers are carried to the nearest floor. |
