PURPOSE: To obtain a transmission system, whose additional optical amplification is not expensive and which is realized easily, by activating a remote doping fiber part and a local doping fiber part by a pump bundle generated by a pumping means. CONSTITUTION: Additional amplification is obtained by a doped fiber part 12 arranged between an optical fiber cable 1 and a pumping module 6 within a receiving terminal 3'. Then, there is no limit concerning the kind of a usable connector at an input part of the terminal 3' and inconvenience is not generated by the combination of the gain 12 dB of a fiber part 12 and the reflection of an input part connector and line with a fiber 1. The fiber part 12 is activated by the same pump bundle 10 as activates a remotely doped fiber part 9. In the case of executing remote optical amplifying technique and local optical amplification obtained by using the locally doped fiber part 12, the increase of optical outputs is equal to what is obtained by adding a fiber decrement 38 km (7.3 dB) to a detected threshold value 3.5 dB, namely the improvement of 10.8 dB. |
