PURPOSE: To provide a user space access method and an emulator which can refer to and change the contents of an internal memory, a register and an external memory of a microprocessor without discontinuing execution of a program that is carried out by the microprocessor. CONSTITUTION: An emulator has a state monitoring function for a development support device of a microprocessor application equipment and consists of an emulation microprocessor 1, an emulation control part, a DMA transfer memory, a user interface part, a host CPU, etc. The microprocessor 1 contains an emulation DMAC 24 which has a function equivalent to that of the microprocessor to be emulated. Then a DMAC transfer request signal 12 is inputted through the DMAC 24, and a CPU 19 contained in the microprocessor 1 acquires the bus use right and outputs a DMAC transfer state signal 13. Thus the DMAC transfer is performed. |
