PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the service for, and the support and maintenance of an electronic system via a 'fault tolerant' boot sequence by performing a system level diagnosis by a remote system through the boot sequence. SOLUTION: This system includes an automobile which mounts a host processor 610, a nonvolatile storage device 615, and a print circuit board 605 having a connector 620. The host processor 610 executes an web BIOS boot sequence stored in the nonvolatile storage device 615 to perform an inner diagnosis on the automobile. By connecting a cable 625 to the connector 620 and a telephone jack 630, the data of the diagnosed result are downloaded via a telephone line 635 and transmitted to an engineer 640 at a remote site. The engineer 640 solves a problem by electrically accessing to a fixed parameter and by correcting the contents of the nonvolatile storage device 615. |
