Drinks industry filter regeneration process discharges filter agent to washing tank

In a drinks industry filtering process, unfiltered drink is mixed with a suitable e.g. fibrous filter material agent and piped to a filter reactor in which the e.g. fibrous material builds a filter cake on an existing permanent supporting substrate. In a subsequent process to regenerate the filter, the drink is drained from the filter reactor and the filter cake is mechanically removed to a vat in which it is mixed with a fresh liquid and cleaned. (a) the filter agent is then returned to the filter reactor as a dispersion; (b) the cleaning fluid is drained from the filter reactor, and the cleaned filter agent is deposited anew on the supporting esp. poly-tetrafluroethylene (PTFE) substrate; (c) the cleaning process is repeated a number of times as required; (d) the filter agent is then used again to clean other drinks or liquids; (e) the filter reactor is a horizontal filter esp. with rotating filter packet; (f) the filter agent is sludge with 30 - 35 % dry matter or kieselgur.
