PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify reproduction of digital data in a plurality of categories in time sequence. SOLUTION: A memory card 2 is attachable to/detachable from a digital camera 1 and records data of a plurality of categories. Data of each category are stored under an exclusively provided sub directory. The digital camera 1 generates serial numbers in the time sequence of recording the digital data independently of the categories of the digital data and records the digital data with each file name including the serial numbers in the case of recording. Furthermore, in the case of reproduction, the digital camera reproduces the digital data in the order of the serial number included in each file name independently of the category.
