PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium using inorganic recording materials and having recording density equal to that of DVD-ROM. SOLUTION: The optical recording medium has at least a light interference layer 3 on a translucent layer on a substrate 1 and a recording layer 4 on the light interference layer. The recording layer has a 1st recording layer 104 comprising a metal, a metalloid or an alloy of these and a 2nd recording layer 105 comprising Ge. The material of the 1st recording layer is, e. g. Al, Au, Ag, Cu, Pt, Pd, Sb, Te, In, Sn, Zn or the like, its compound or alloy. The translucent layer is, e.g. a thin film of Al, Au or Si. The light interference layer comprises known derivatives such as ZnS.SiO2, SiO2, MgF, SiN, InO or ZnO. |
