PURPOSE: A method for printing a record paper of a cash register selectively is provided to reduce unnecessary consumption of record papers by outputting receipt papers and inspection papers selectively. CONSTITUTION: A method for printing a record paper of a cash register selectively includes a few stages. In the first stage(S40) the general function of the cash register is carried out. If the printing message is input in the second stage(S42), the printing control keys(23a-23d) are input. If the printing control key code value is 11 in the third stage(S44), the printer initializing routine in the fourth stage(S46) is skipped. In the fifth stage(S48) details about transaction are displayed and the cash drawer is open. If the printing control key code value isn't 11 in the third stage(S44), the printer initializing routine is carried out in the sixth stage(S50). If the printing control key code value in the seventh stage(S52) is 00 , details about transaction are output in the eighth stage(S54) and that stage is moved to the fifth stage(S48). If the printing control key code value in the seventh stage(S52) isn't 00 , it is moved to the ninth stage(S56). If the key code value is 01 , it is moved to the tenth stage(S58). But after printing details about transaction, it is moved to the fifth stage(S48). If the key code value is 10 in the ninth stage(S56), it is moved to the eleventh stage(S60) and details about transaction are printed and it is moved to the fifth stage(S48).
