<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slat support member for preventing deflection of shaft members by supporting the shaft members at its opposite ends, guaranteeing smooth rotation of the shaft members, and suitable for supporting a slat by a flexible belt-like body substitutive for a rigid link member. <P>SOLUTION: This slat support member 8 is interposed between link mechanisms 4 and 5 and the slat 9, and supports the slat 9 by the link mechanisms 4 and 5, and has a support 22 and a support 42 joined to the support 22 via a fitting means 40. The support 22 has an arm part 31 having a through-hole 30 for rotatably inserting a shaft part 47 of the shaft members 23 and 26, a shaft part 36 arranged via a guide slit 16 and a fitting projection part 37 fitted to a fitting part 60.
