<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic optical crystal cleaning method for cleaning and flattening the surface of an organic optical crystal the representative example of which is a DAST (4-dimethylamino-N-methyl-4-stilbazolium tosylate) single crystal, and also to provide such an organic optical single crystal having a cleaned and flattened surface by the method. SOLUTION: This cleaning method comprises immersing a prescribed substrate 3 in a DAST solution 2 in a growth vessel 1, to grow a DAST crystal in a groove 3A formed in the substrate 3 and to obtain a grown DAST single crystal 4, injecting Fluorinate (R) (3M) 8 into the growth vessel 1 to subject the resulting liquid mixture in the vessel 1 to phase separation into a layer of the DAST solution 2 positioned on the upper side of the vessel 1, and a layer of the Fluorinate (R) 8 positioned on the lower side of the vessel 1, moving the substrate 3 into the Fluorinate (R) 8, removing the DAST solution 2 from the growth vessel 1, and tacking out the substrate 3 having the grown DAST single crystal 4 from the growth vessel 1.</p> |
