PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waiting time detection system in which the waiting time of a queue is exactly and automatically detected and informed of without requiring a person in charge and the setting up of a route by a rope or a simple fence, and thus service to visitors is enhanced and labor costs are reduced. SOLUTION: An event place or cultural facilities are photographed by a television camera 1 and a queue of people is detected based on the timewise change of the photographed image. Waiting time required for the arrival of the final part of the detected queue at the head position of the queue is detected and informed of by displaying the waiting time on an electric display device 13.
