PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an upper frame structure of a heat insulating sash, having large support strength of an inner paper sliding screen 6, capable of attaching-detaching a resin frame made of a synthetic resin, and superior in heat insulating performance. SOLUTION: This upper frame structure of the heat insulating sash of a composite structure, forms the outdoor side of a metallic frame 1a, forms the indoor side of the resin frame 1b made of the synthetic resin, and has a guide rail on the outdoor side and the indoor side, for respectively slidably guiding an outer paper sliding screen 5 on the outside, and the inner paper sliding screen 6 on the inside; and is characterized in that the resin frame 1b includes the indoor side guide rail 18, an upwardly opening open groove 26 is formed in this guide rail 18, a metallic reinforcing member 27 is inserted into this open groove 26, and the metallic reinforcing member 27 is fixed to the metallic frame 1a by a screw.
