<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the operation from the last display state of menu screen with a simple button operation even if menu screen operation becomes impossible by traveling start or the like. <P>SOLUTION: When a menu screen fails by masking due to traveling start of a vehicle or operation of another operation button during inputting or setting operation using the menu screen (at this time, the menu screen of each layer displayed till then is stored in a storage means), a predetermined operation button, e.g., a "present position" display button for displaying the road map near the vehicle is continuously pressed for a predetermined time or more (step 302). Then, all menu screens stored in the storage means are read from the storage means, and the display state of menu screen just before masking is restored.
