PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a follow-up traveling control device controlling smooth follow-up traveling by respecting the operation of a driver performed according to change of a traffic condition around a vehicle. SOLUTION: In the follow-up traveling control device which has a radar device 11 for detecting objects present in the advancing direction of a subject vehicle, determines a preceding vehicle followed up by the subject vehicle among the detected objects, and performs the follow-up traveling control to the determined preceding vehicle, when a start/stop switch 25 is pressed during the stop control of the subject vehicle and the driving operation to request the start by the driver is detected, a control state determination unit 17 changes the control state of the subject vehicle from the stop control to the follow-up control irrespective of the start of the preceding vehicle.
