<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium which can perform good recording and reproducing. <P>SOLUTION: The optical recording medium 10 has a reflection layer 12, a second dielectric layer 13, a second recording layer 32, a first recording layer 31, a first dielectric layer 15, and a light transmission layer 16 successively formed on a substrate 11. The first recording layer contains Si, Ge, Sn, etc., and the second recording layer contains Ag. When the recording medium is irradiated with a laser beam L20 of a wavelength 405 nm by using an objective lens of a numerical aperture 0.85, the components of the first and second recording layers are mixed and recording marks M are formed in the irradiated regions and crystallized regions M' are formed adjacently to the recording marks M in the first and second dielectric layers. As a result thereof, a difference in reflectivity between the regions irradiated with the laser beam and the other regions is increased and the data recorded to the optical recording medium are reproduced by utilizing the difference in reflectivity. Reproduced signals of a high C/N(Carrier-to-Noise) ratio can thus be obtained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
