A protective film for a polarizing plate, a polarizing plate and a liquid crystal display device are provided to keeping a high quality of image of the display device for a long time. A protective film for a polarizing plate includes: a transparent base film(2) made of cellulose acylates; a coating layer(3) formed on one surface of the transparent base film and containing polymer which includes a repetition unit derived from a chlorine-containing vinyl monomer; and a layer formed on the other surface of the transparent base film and having at least a hard coat property. Vapor permeability of the protective film is less than 300g/m^2(day) at a temperature of 65°C, a relative humidity of 95%.
