<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cellulose acylate optical film particularly for VA (vertically aligned), IPS (in-plane switching) and OCB (optically compensatory bend) modes which accurately, optically compensates liquid crystal cells and improves its contrast and the color shift dependent on a visual angle in black display, to provide its production method and a polarizing plate using the optical film, and also to provide a liquid crystal display, particularly of VA, IPS and OCB modes which improves the contrast and the color shift dependent on the visual angle in black display. <P>SOLUTION: The method for production of the cellulose acylate optical film includes: a film formation process for obtaining a film having the volatile portions of equal to or less than 5 wt.% by a solution casting method; and the stretching and contraction processes for stretching and contracting the obtained film in X% elongation and Y% contraction rate, respectively so as to satisfy the formula (Z). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
