SYSTEM FOR DIGITAL CONTENTS MANAGEMENT AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING OF DRM CONTENTS

A digital contents management system and a DRM(Digital Rights Management) contents providing method are provided to share copy control information of DRM contents between different DRM systems, maintain a watermark embedded in the DRM contents and embed a new sharable watermark to the DRM contents so as to efficiently apply a watermark to the DRM contents between the different DRM systems. A digital contents management system(200) includes a rights manager(220) and a watermark processor(210). The rights manager confirms copy control information of DRM contents and determines whether the DRAM contents are provided to another system when an object to which the DRM contents are provided is a recordable medium. The watermark processor confirms whether the DRM contents include a watermark and embeds the watermark in the DRM contents when the rights manager determines that the DRM contents are provided to another system.
