摘要 A plasma display apparatus and a driving method thereof are provided to execute a stable reset discharge during an auxiliary reset period by preventing the loss of wall charges during a recess period. A plasma display apparatus includes plural discharge cells, a controller(200), and drivers(300,400,500). The controller divides a frame into plural subfields, calculates remaining periods, allocates reset, address, and sustain period, and allocates a recess period to the subfields. The drivers initialize wall charges of a part of the discharge cells during the reset period, select discharge cells to be illuminated among the discharge cells during the address period, and discharge the discharge cells to be illuminated by applying sustain pulses during the sustain period. The controller divides the subfields into a first group, which includes a first subfield having a minimum weighted value, and a second group, which includes a second subfield having a maximum weighted value, and processes the subfield of the first group to have a shorter recess period than that of the second group.
