A suspension system for a vehicle which can perform a control for avoiding such a state that the operation of a motor, i.e. the power source of an electromagnetic actuator, stops at the same operational position while a motor force is generating. More specifically, a control for shifting the target rotary position of the motor by d? is performed when the target rotary position of the motor is at a specific operational position (e.g. a rotary position where the conduction amount for one phase has a peak value). When the rotary position of the rotor is fixed at the same position for a set time or longer, a control for varying the rotary position of the motor is performed. According to the present system, burden on the motor can be lessened by suppressing a deviation in heat generation of the motor, and a highly practical suspension system is configured.
