A hacking preventing method in a digital broadcasting receiver is provided to set the reception limitation range of a subscriber if a subscriber authentication smart card is recognized, scan the data line of the subscriber authentication smart card to detect whether data is transmitted through a line, which is not used for a predetermined time, and cut off the transmission of data with the subscriber authentication smart card if the data is transmitted through the line, thereby preventing the data of the smart card from being hacked through the data line of which a use is limited or which is not used for the predetermined time. A hacking preventing method in a digital broadcasting receiver comprises the following steps of: recognizing an inserted smart card to set the reception limitation range of a subscriber(S10,S13); scanning the data line of the smart card to detect whether data is transmitted through a line of which a use is limited(S14,S16); and cutting off the transmission of data with the smart card if it is determined that the data is transmitted through the line(S17). |
