PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure of attaching/detaching an endoscope and a portable light source device surely attaching/detaching the portable light source device to/from the endoscope and making it possible to easily recognize whether or not it is surely mounted though in a simple structure. SOLUTION: On a recessed part for light source connection formed on the inner peripheral surface of a plurality of opening/closing members 20 projected on the endoscope, a stopper 28 and a fall prevention member 27 formed so as to appear and disappear and energized in a projecting direction by a first energizing means S2 are provided. On the surface of the light emitting insertion part 43 of the portable light source 30, an annular flange 44 which can get over the fall prevention member in a projected state while pushing it in a sinking direction and is to be clamped by the stopper and the fall prevention member when positioned between the stopper and the fall prevention member is provided.
