The invention relates to a hinge strap (100) for door or windows. The hinge strap (100) comprises a first strap section (1) and a second strap section (2), wherein the first strap section (1) and the second strap section (2) are connected together around a hinge axis (3) to form a hinge. A latching mechanism is also provided, comprising a latching element disposed at the first strap section (1) and a latch recess disposed at the second strap section (2). A guide receptacle disposed at the first strap section (1) is also provided, with at least one spring element disposed in the guide receptacle and able to move along a longitudinal axis thereof. The latching element is moveably guided against the effect of the spring element and reaches into the latch recess in a latching position in spring-loaded fashion, wherein the spring element comprises a first end and a second end, the first end of the spring element being supported against a latching element connecting element, the second end of the spring element being supported against a adjustment unit for adjusting a spring force of the spring element, and wherein the first strap section (1) comprises at least one opening with a penetration axis placed at an angle of other than 0° and 180° relative to the longitudinal axis of the guide receptacle. |
