PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an energy absorption structure for vehicle capable of increasing an energy absorption amount at the time when receiving a load from the front of a central part in a vehicle width direction.SOLUTION: An energy absorption structure for vehicle comprises: a power train unit in which an engine and a transmission are disposed side by side in a vehicle width direction; side members provided on both sides of the power train unit in a vehicle width direction extending to the front of the vehicle from the power train unit; and a bumper reinforcement member 1 whose both ends are connected to the front ends of the side members. The bumper reinforcement member 1 has a fragile part formed to lower the flexural strength of the portion of an engine-disposed side so that the portion of the reinforcement member of the engine-disposed side rather than a central part becomes easy to fracture when receiving a load from the front of the central part in the vehicle width direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
