<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system that prevents an apparatus for supplying hydrogen to a fuel cell stack from being ignited in the occurrence of hydrogen leakage and has improved reliability. <P>SOLUTION: In the fuel cell stack 1, air is supplied from a compressor 3 and hydrogen is supplied from a high-pressure hydrogen tank 2 via a regulator 4, a regulator 5, and an ejector 6. The regulator 5, the ejector 6, a valve 7, and a purging valve 8 are closed by an enclosure 9. In starting the fuel cell system, the inside of the enclosure 9 is filled with hydrogen via a valve 13.
