The present invention relates to a panel structure, enabling black and white display and light transmittance adjustment even without a polarizing plate, and a smart window and a display device using the panel structure. A panel structure, according to the present invention, comprises: a first panel having a first substrate, a first transverse electric field-type electrode layer which is formed on the first substrate and is in a first electric field direction, and a first nanocapsule layer which is formed on the first substrate; and a second panel adhered to the first panel and having a second substrate, a second transverse electric field-type electrode layer which is formed on the second substrate and is in a second electric field direction, and a second nanocapsule layer which is formed on the second substrate. Moreover, the first nanocapsule layer and second nanocapsule layer comprise: a plurality of nanocapsules formed from a core material, in which liquid crystals and a dichroic dye are mixed, and a shell material which forms the outer wall of the core material; and a polymer matrix having the plurality of nanocapsules disposed therein. And the first transverse electric field-type electrode layer and second transverse electric field-type electrode layer are formed such that the first electric field direction and second electric field direction differ from each other. |
