<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolyte material capable of providing a lithium secondary battery excellent in electrochemical characteristics and swelling characteristics and the lithium secondary battery including it. <P>SOLUTION: This electrolyte material for the lithium secondary battery includes a nonaqueous organic solvent containing an ester or ether based organic solvent of 20-95 vol.% based on the total of the organic solvent; lithium salt; and a compound additive with two or more carbonate groups. The lithium secondary battery is excellent in the electrochemical characteristics such as capacitance characteristics and life characteristics, and in the swelling characteristics, particularly, high temperature swelling characteristics. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
