<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dielectric porcelain composition which is easily controlled to bring τ<SB>f</SB>into a desired range while maintaining both of dielectric properties εr and Qu each in a good range, and to provide a method for manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The dielectric porcelain composition is obtained by heat treating a fired body at 1,220 to 1,420°C, and then cooling the treated body at a cooling speed of ≤500°C/h. The composition has a formulation expressed by a formula xAl<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>-ySnO<SB>2</SB>-zTiO<SB>2</SB>(wherein, x, y and z represent mol %, and x+y+z=100). The parameters x, y and z are included in a region of a tetragon (including sides) formed by connecting point P (x=92.5, y=5.5, z=2), point Q (x=62.5, y=28.5, z=9), point R (x=62.5, y=2.45, z=35.05), and point S (x=92.5, y=1, z=6.5) in order in the figure. The dielectric porcelain formulation exhibits ε<SB>r</SB>of 9 to 16, Qu of 4,000 to 8,000, and τ<SB>f</SB>of -37 to +12 ppm/°C. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
