PURPOSE:To mitigate the shock that a wire material receives from a reel when the wire material is wound up on the poling reel and to perform the wind-up smoothly, by making the circumferential speed of the reel higher than the feeding speed of the wire material during a suitable period after the leading end of the wire material abuts on the reel bottom. CONSTITUTION:The wire material 1 is led via a guide member into an entry pipe 3, and then is led between an outer cylinder 21 and an inner cylinder 22 of the reel 2, and the leading end thereof is abutted on the bottom plate 23 and the wire material 1 is wound up on the reel 2. In this case, after the winding- up of the wire material 1 is started, that is, the leading end thereof is abutted on the bottom plate 23, the circumferential speed of the inner cylinder 22 of the reel 2 is made higher than the feeding speed of the wire material 1 for a suitable period. Further the circumferential speed of the reel 2 is adjusted in accordance with the structure of the wind-up machine including the rotational axis of the reel 2 and the inclination of the entry pipe 3 with respect to the rotational axis of the reel. When the wire material 1 is wound, for example, twice or thrice on the reel 2, the circumferential speed of the reel 2 is made in conformity with the feeding speed of the wire material 1 again. |
