PURPOSE:To obtain a uniform print density, in a dot impact printer employing a round platen, by employing a curved section approximately same as that of the platen for the surface facing against the platen while employing a planar section for the surface facing against a print head. CONSTITUTION:An ink ribbob 2 has a curved section 2A approximately same as that of a platen 1 while the surface of the ink ribbon facing against a print wire 4 is made planar. Consequently, the strokes of the print wire 4 near the upper end, the lower end and the central portion are approximately equalized. Since the strokes of all print wires can be equalized, the print densities near the upper and lower ends can be approximately equalized to that near the central portion.
