PURPOSE:To keep a constant interval between coil members, by combining a pair of rotational amount sensors and a coil member sensor in a feeding method of coil members in a heat treatment process for switching a high feed speed and a low feed speed. CONSTITUTION:A signal produced by a rotary encoder C and a sensor 12 are input to a counter for determining a pulse PA to be input to a servo controller 14. A signal produced by another rotary encoder D and another sensor 12 is input to a counter 15 for determining a pulse PB to be input to a servo controller 14 so that an interval of coil members lx is made to l0 for switching a high speed to a low speed. With this arrangement, an interval between coil members is kept constant for increasing softening efficiency.
