A method for determining the presence and/or amount of Eikenella corrodens in an oral sample such as gingival and subgingival plaque. Using species-specific antibodies specific for the entire species E. corrodens, the presence and/or amount of complex formed with antigens of E. corrodens in the sample is determined. Species-specific antibodies, and kits containing such antibodies, can include monoclonal antibodies. |
