PURPOSE:To prevent ink from stagnating in a gap of a head mounting part and from mixing when a blade wipes a plurality of heads by positively cleaning the blade for wiping delivery port-forming surfaces of the ink jet recording heads after wiping. CONSTITUTION:An absorbing body 104 is provided on the side face of a recording head unit 100. After wiping a delivery face 101a, a blade 401 engages with the absorbing body 1.04. Where a width of a delivery port arranging range is WN, a blade width is WB, and an absorbing body width is WH, a relation WN<WB<=WH is held. If a capping member with a width WC for covering the delivery port arranging range and thereabouts and a second absorbing body 73 with a width WK are further provided, WN<WC<WB<=WH<=WK is held. This dimensional relation ensures that the delivery surface is wiped by the blade 401 and the wiped ink is surely absorbed in the absorbing body. |
