Puncture needle adapter for peripheral catheter, which comprises a flexible sheath forming a compressible bellows (5). The sheath (5) is arranged around the puncture needle (2) and its length is at least equal, after stretching, to that of the puncture needle (2). One end of the sheath (5) is fixed to the support (3) of the free end of the puncture needle (2) and its other end is fixed onto a sleeve (4), itself equipped with means for removable fastening onto the end (5) of the catheter located on the needle support side. <IMAGE>
