The invention aims to improve electric prods for controlling flocks and, for example, prods of the type described by the french patent number 988.730, characterised, on the one hand, by substituting for the "monobloc core" of the winding, a "laminated core", advantageously consisting of a bundle of iron wires, on the other hand, by substituting for the housing, previously consisting of a segment of insulating tube, a housing moulded from polycarbonate, suitable for containing four round batteries of 1.5 volts, moreover, by the novel use of struts said to be made of "P.V.C.", equipped with an end slot, in the shape of a groove, and, moreover and essentially, by the substitution, for the tungsten contacts of the switch, contacts made of silver alloy at 800 thousandths, oxidation of which does not reduce the good electrical conductivity, while the hexagonal clamping nuts facilitate this clamping.
