MEDIUM MULTIPLEXING CELL CONFIGURATION METHOD

PURPOSE:To send a cell while the same level is kept between required media for transmission processing quality such as a delay by applying multiplexing and interleaving processing to a medium based on a selected medium cell so as to compose a transmission cell. CONSTITUTION:Medium information to be multiplexed is divided into information blocks of a prescribed length depending on each medium by a medium cell processing section 10, an identifier indicating a type of medium is added to the cell to form a medium cell of a prescribed length (Lm symbols) and the cell is stored in a medium buffer 11. A medium cell selection section 12 reads Lt-sets of medium cells from the medium buffer 11, an interleave processing section 13 arranges the Lt-sets of medium cells to each column of an Lm-row Lt-column interleave frame and interleaving is processed in a form of outputting Lm-sets of information blocks having a prescribed length (Lt symbols) forming each row. Then a transmission cell processing section 14 adds a cell header to Lm-sets of information blocks to form a transmission cell subject to medium multiplexing.
