The invention relates to a process for sowing a field with forest. In the process, the field is first sown with protective vegetation and thereafter with tree seeds. In the process, tree seeds are sown by means of a sowing machine 1, by which seeds of at least two types of tree are sown simultaneously in at least one row in the direction of travel of the machine. The machine has a disc 2 and at least two different recessed wheels 12a-12c intended for different seeds and mounted on the same axle 24 as the disc 2. <IMAGE>
