IMAGE FORMING METHOD

PURPOSE: To provide an image forming method to maintain high picture quality. CONSTITUTION: An image is formed under the following conditions. The average roughness Ra (numerical average roughness) of the surface of a toner carrying body is <1.5μm. The coating amt. of the toner layer per unit area formed on the toner carrying body satisfies w/ρ=(coated toner amount/1cm<2> )/toner density = 0.2 to 0.8 and the moving speed of the carrying body in the developing zone is 1.05-3.0 times as the moving speed of an electrostatic latent image holding body. The polymer component of the toner compsn. has a main peak in the range from 3×10<3> to 3×10<4> mol.wt. and a subpeak in the range from 1×10<5> to 3×10<6> mol.wt. in a GPC(gel permeation chromatography) chromatogram of a THF(tetrahydro furan) soluble component. The acid value (AVL) of the low mol.wt. polymer and the acid value (AVH) of the high mol.wt. polymer satisfy AVL>AVH.
