<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a print control unit dispensing with a storage part for storing information unique to a printer. <P>SOLUTION: Unique information of each printer (printer A, B, C etc.) is collectively stored in an external database server 30. When a new printer is connected, a print control part 25 acquires the unique information of the printer concerned from the database server 30 according to an instruction from a user, and stores the acquired unique information in a printer unique information storage part 24.
