<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner capable of performing the maintenance of a drain pan and a fan motor without demounting a heat exchanger and a blower fan together with a base. <P>SOLUTION: This air conditioner is composed of the heat exchanger 4 and the blower fan 5 mounted on an air passage connecting a suction port 1 and a blowing-out port 2, and supported by a supporting member 3 joined to upper parts at both sides of a base a, the fan motor connected to one side of the blower fan 5 and held by a motor holder, and a base unit composed of the base a, the drain pan 8 attached to the base a and corresponded to a lower part of the heat exchanger 4, a left and right wind direction plate 9 and an upper and lower wind direction plate 10 for deflecting the air flow toward the blowing-out port 2, and a driving device 11 for driving the upper and lower wind direction plate 10.
