PURPOSE: A method for navigating information using an interaction model is provided to enable a user to selectively read/view contents associated with channels on a display device. CONSTITUTION: The first selector(330a) has a default function such as upward, page-up, or previous page on a currently selected channel, and an alternative function for starting/stopping a timer function. The second selector(330b) has the default function such as downward, page-down, or next page on the currently selected channel, and the alternative function for resetting the timer function. The third selector(330c) has the default function such as mode or channel selection and the alternative function for selecting a main channel. The fourth selector(330d) has the default function for enter and the alternative function for deleting an item on the display. The fifth selector(334e) has the default function for backlight.
