摘要 PURPOSE:To extract chlorine or chlorine ion from the carrier for a catalyst into water and remove it by coating noble metallic chloride and passing water to the inside of the carrier for the catalyst after calcination. CONSTITUTION:Activated alumina is carried on the surface of a carrier 12 for a catalyst such as a honeycomb carrier. Thereafter this carrier is immersed in slurry liquid contg. chloride of noble metal for the catalyst such as PtCl2 and RhCl3 and the surface of the carrier 12 is coated by this slurry liquid. Then this carrier is dried to remove slurry liquid and calcined in a heating furnace to carry noble metallic chloride on the carrier 12. After pure water stored in a tank 10 is heated, it is ejected through the nozzles 34a and the carrier 12 is dipped to the inside of the tank 10. Pure water is passed through the inside of the carrier 12 in such a way. Both chlorine produced at a time of calcination and chlorine ion separated from noble metallic chloride are extracted and removed. Therefore, corrosion is surely prevented because hydrochloric acid is not formed.
