Phthalocyanine compounds represented by the below-described formula are suitable for use in the fabrication of color filters. wherein R<1>, R<4>, R<5>, R<8>, R<9>, R<1><2>, R<1><3> and R<1><6> represent a group represented by the below-described formula, H or a halogen atom, R<2>, R<3>, R<6>, R<7>, R<1><0>, R<1><1>, R<1><4> and R<1><5> represent an alkyl, alkoxyl, alkylthio, alkylamino, dialkylamino or aryloxyl, arylthio group or -COOR<1><7>, R<1><7> being a particular monovalent group, H or a halogen atom; and Met represents a metal atom. wherein X and Z represent O or S, R<1><8>, R<1><9> and R<2><0> represent H or an alkyl group, A, B and D represent a connecting group, n and l is an integer of 0-10, m, q, t, u, r and w are an integer of 0-2, and p is 0 or 1.
