PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coated optical fiber contrasting device which can securely and easily curve a coated optical fiber put in a unit tube having large deformation resistance to specific curvature. SOLUTION: A curved part of specific curvature is given to an intermediate part of the coated optical fiber put in a unit tube 1 constituting an optical fiber cable and part of light is leaked from the curved part to contrast the coated optical fiber. This coated optical fiber contrasting device is provided with a gripper 10 which grips both the sides of the curved part of the unit tube 1, a curvature imparting unit 20 which curves the unit tube 1 to desired curvature, and a rack 24, a worm gear 33, and a roller part 34 which press the curvature imparting tool 20 against the unit tube 1 so that the unit tube 1 gripped by the gripper 10 is curved to the desired curvature. |
