PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an electromagnetic wave shielding filter in which transmittance of electromagnetic wave and light can be regulated appropriately by varying the aperture of an opening for transmitting light from position to position. SOLUTION: A plasma display 11 incorporates a plasma display panel 12 having front face arranged with an electromagnetic wave shielding filter 13. The electromagnetic wave shielding filter 13 comprises a metal mesh 22 arranged on a transparent substrate 21 and the metal mesh 22 has a compact structure in the central part as compared with the peripheral part. Depending on the difference in the quantity of electromagnetic wave generated from the plasma display panel 12 from position to position, aperture at a corresponding position is regulated. According to the arrangement, electromagnetic wave can be shielded sufficiently and transmittance of light can be enhanced.
