<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image formation method and printed matter by an inkjet recording method in which highly fine images can be recorded with a superior character quality and without the generation of color mixture and swelling of characters, and moreover without the generation of wrinkles and curling of the printed matter, and to provide an image formation method which eliminates the need of ventilation. <P>SOLUTION: In the image formation method, ink containing a photo-curing type resin composition which includes at least water, a polymerizable compound that can be radically polymerized by light, and a water soluble photopolymerization initiator for generating radicals by the action of light is discharged on a recording material by a recording head with at least one nozzle capable of selectively controlling the discharge of ink droplets is discharged onto a recording material.
