PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a laminate having stability in quality and excellent in quality at a low cost without causing air pollution while saving natural resources. SOLUTION: This method for producing a prepreg comprises making a powdery thermosetting resin composition comprising a thermosetting resin and a curing agent as essential ingredients present at least on the surface of a sheet-like fibrous substrate material where fiber surface have been welded together by heat. The powdery thermosetting resin composition preferably is obtained by causing mechanochemical reaction due to imparted mechanical energy to a mixture of the above ingredients and further preferably is incorporated with a coupling agent.
